Invel has strengthened its Investment team with three key appointments. These new appointments bring additional expertise that will enhance Invel’s ability to take advantage of opportunities in the European real estate market that involve corporate and government restructuring, complex capital structures, and/or asset redevelopment and repositioning.
Arnaud Plat joins as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investor Relations from Brookfield Financial, the real estate focused investment banking arm of Brookfield Asset Management Inc, where he was Managing Partner. Before Brookfield, he was a Director in the Eurohypo Global Advisory team. He brings to Invel considerable experience and a depth of expertise in European real estate transactions from M&A to corporate and debt restructuring, fund raisings, JV creations and IPOs.
Arnaud is joined by Thanasis Karagiannis, Vice President, and Becca Wu, Associate.
Prior to Invel, Thanasis spent more than six years at RREEF, the private equity real estate arm of Deutsche Asset Management. At RREEF, Thanasis was part of the Opportunistic, European and UK teams, and brings with him significant experience of financial underwriting, commercial negotiations, project execution and portfolio management. Becca Wu joins Invel from the strategy team at British Land, where she specialised in developing company strategy for new and existing portfolio investments with a focus on the retail sector.
Commenting on these new appointments, Chris Papachristophorou, Managing Partner, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Arnaud, Thanasis, and Becca to Invel. They bring with them significant additional commercial and investment experience.
“Arnaud is an experienced and first class adviser and is exactly what Invel needs at this key stage in its development. He has a pedigree in real estate advisory and business development. He understands well Invel’s model to attract co-investors on a transaction-by-transaction basis.
“Thanasis brings considerable experience in structuring and execution of complex projects as well as European portfolio management. His knowledge will contribute in identifying, underwriting, negotiating and executing transactions in our focus markets where his track record is strong.
“Becca adds further experience gained with a major UK REIT and FTSE 100 constituent, allowing us to sharpen further our disciplined risk management process to achieve our performance objectives.”
